Finally, after two years of COVID-19 pandemic, we were fortunate to welcome back in the Blegen, not only library patrons, but also volunteers from College Year in Athens (CYA).

Continuing a long tradition of collaboration with CYA, volunteers, in both semesters, contributed approx. a total of 150 hours completing most of the projects assigned by our Assistant Librarian.

Their tasks varied from book reshelving, shifting parts of the collection in order to gain extra space, conducting searches in our online catalogue, collecting damaged books to prepare for the binder.

In the two photos, Alexander is working on the “Compact shelving project” moving specific books from the regular collection and shelving them in their permanent location in the stacks.
